1/26/2024 0 Comments Crusader kings 3 achievementsI mean really, clear all notifications makes it so i don't get achievements. TBH I was paradox would view mods (Impossible i know) But so many QOL mods just take away achievements. Honestly I don't play MP but i'd hate to play MP with someone who just swaps char every 5 mins I wish i could get my friends into these games. Yea it's great to get it, but it's not like "Wow that was hard the entire time!" More or less First generation or two was a struggle after that it's just doing whatever you want until the time runs out or you did what you need to do and quit for the next. Though that's how a lot of achives feel in games that run forver. But the base game alone isn't rewarding enough to do so for me at least, most feel like a slog then you geting something great. Honestly achievements in this game are overrated, if you're bored hunt em. I love the idea, though it doesn't always help. I play ironman myself just so i don't swap characters and fix there dumb mistakes honestly. Those things shouldn't void your achievement, only because they hypothetically could make it easier than the game intended.Īllowing people with balanced-ish mods to get achievements is a benefit far greater than locking out people who trick their way to achievements. Or you just can't live without the Knight Manager. Maybe you want to just enjoy more flavour with the community flavor pack. That still holds true in the same way for modded games. "Here's this random interesting task you could do and see what happens or how you manage to achieve it. To me personally, achievements in GSGs are about incentives. That'd be supremely odd, wouldn't it? I also don't regularly check what achievements other people do. I don't know about you guys, but i never once encountered a random person who came to me and was bragging about random achievements in a game i play. Telling them you got the super-hard achievement, when they know you can barely keep your economy together in the game, why would they believe you? Most people have their in-group of friends that enjoy the same games as them. And that is fine.Ĭan you cheat your way to get that? Sure.ĭoes that mean people will do that in masses? Very unlikely.įor Stellaris for example there are several guides on how to manipulate the game settings to make very hard achievements very easy to get, while still allowing Iron Man.Īnd Achievements are barely ever used for bragging rights in general, aren't they? Other people getting an achievement via less-stringent rule sets does not cheapen the effort that someone else might put into it.Īll value achievements have is entirely artificial anyway. Achievements only hold whatever worth the player places on them. Those that want to can still only play vanilla iron man when achievement hunting. Some people require accessibility and/or translation mods that change the checksum and so lock them out of ever getting achievements.(Only 33.2% of Steam players have the CK3 achievement for getting married.) Many players are generally locked out of achievements just for not bothering to check the iron man box during game setup, so this will open up the achievements feature to players that otherwise would not be able to enjoy them.It really sucks to have an achievement run ruined with the realization that one forgot to check the iron man box during game setup. It really sucks to have an achievement run ruined by a corrupted save file or other bug. There are many useful QoL mods that do not affect balance but block achievements. There are many other moddable games that allow achievements without an iron man equivalent and their completion rates are not obviously diluted from cheating (Civ6 is a common example here: |.Cheating has always been possible from simple save-scumming to third-party applications that can be used to simply grant achievements.Personally, as someone who enjoys going after achievements, I do not see any defensible reasons for the current achievement restrictions and would like to see CK3 follow the Victoria 3 team's lead on this. With the recent announcement that Victoria 3 will launch without the usual checksum and iron man requirements for achievement eligibility ( ), is the CK3 team considering changing to match?ĭo you, as members of the CK3 community, want the checksum and iron man requirements changed?
